Sugar Inc. Launches ShopSense Program, Helps Bloggers Monetize Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Sugar Inc. (, the leading lifestyle and entertainment media network for women, just made blogging about a desired pair of designer heels or a favorite mascara a little bit sweeter with the introduction of ShopSense (, a free affiliate program that allows participants to earn money by featuring fashion, beauty, home and children's products and links from ShopStyle ( in their blogs, websites, and other applications. Following the company's launch of the OnSugar ( blogging platform and ShopStyle API last month, Sugar Inc. is the only media company to completely integrate an affiliate program directly into its blogging platform.

ShopSense offers bloggers, regardless of the platform they use, the opportunity to generate income for the traffic they send retailers when featuring ShopStyle products, links and widgets on their site. With access to ShopStyle's catalog of more than 500,000 products from the world's leading fashion, beauty, home and kids retailers, bloggers can create myriad posts featuring the items they desire. Bloggers with OnSugar sites can easily sign up for a ShopSense account through their Profile page and have direct access to ShopStyle images and captions without leaving OnSugar, making it simple to begin monetizing their sites. Non-OnSugar bloggers can sign up for a ShopSense account at and immediately begin adding ShopSense-enabled products and widgets to their own sites and applications.

"Given the current state of the economy, and with the holiday season fast approaching, we are excited to open up a new revenue stream for fashion bloggers and developers alike," said Andy Moss, Vice President and General Manager, ShopStyle. "With ShopStyle's breadth of products and beautiful images, ShopSense has the ability to provide significant income for its participants."

With a widget gallery designed to inspire new ways to incorporate products into sites and the ability to build new product-based applications with the ShopStyle API, ShopSense is designed to help bloggers make the most of their participation. ShopSense automatically tracks the clicks coming from a site to the retailer or to and participants are paid on a per-click basis.

"It really is as easy as writing about the products you love and, if your readers like them too, you earn money," said Moss.
